Today is the 3rd anniversary of the "completion" of the Tudor Project™. I had a new Tudor History in 5 minutes mega post planned and halfway done, but I can't summon the energy to finish it today.
What was to be a good day turned out to be a bad one.

As some of you know, I volunteer at an animal shelter for over 10 years now and today was a day to go there for me.
All fine and dandy until we arrive there and see open gates where there should be locked ones.
I hastened to check all the smaller compounds to see if all the dogs were ok as well as my Mafaldinha and Mé-mé. Everybody present and well. What a relief! The last volunteer there must have left the gates poorly closed and the dreadful weather we've been having blew them open somehow, we thought.

But then we began to work and went to get the food from storage...
Empty.
Approx. 400kgs of dog ration and about a dozen cans of food had vanished. Even a small bag of wheat for Mafaldinha had been taken.
For the second time in 4 years, we had been robbed.
Last time they stole 5 old dog houses and about a dozen clasps we use on the doors and caused the death of one dog (either intentionally or not, we'll never know...).
We have to be thankful that, this time, all animals were well, but the harm is still too big. The average consumption is 50kgs per day and the next donation campaign scheduled is on the 15th and 16th, so we have 10 days of hanging on by the skin of our teeth to endure until then.

How can someone do that?! Not just steal food, but steal ALL the food from abandoned animals who live off the charity of others?!
I can count on the fingers of my hands the number of times I've felt hatred in my life, and this was one of those times.
I want those bastards hurt and dying in a ditch somewhere. No figure of speech used here, I really wish them dead. As slowly and painfully as possible, please.

But, as it's the norm (for me, at least), hate consumes and gives nothing in return. I'm exhausted.
My last dredges of emotional strength have to be spent on gratitude, though.
We've been mobilizing on FB, newspapers and even on a cable channel, asking for help and donations of food, money and volunteers, and people have been receptive and generous, so, hopefully, we'll make it through this nightmarish patch.
There is still good out there. There are still good people out there. It's still worth it.

Adding a new doll to the list and realizing there are over 35 dolls scheduled. O_O
Have I ever mentioned exactly ho much I love you guys?
A lot. A very big lot. A whole enormous vastness of lot. That's pretty much it.  :)

About a year after I began making dolls, I took on what I called the Tudor Project™.
What, once, was only meant to be Henry and his wives, has grown to the point where I've decided never to deem it a finished project.
I am now embarking on a new adventure of a similar size: the Doctor Project™.
I've done a few Doctors Who before, true, but now it's the real thing.
If all goes according to plan, there will be a new doll every month until all 13 Doctors are made.
It has already begun.

Wish me luck!

Love,

Deri

I feel a bit silly and very presumptuous asking this, but...
Is there anything in the techniques I use with my dolls that makes you curious?

As most of you know, I'm self-taught and my works are the product of years of trial and error and internet tutorials. I don't claim knowing the proper way to make ANYTHING! :P But there are a couple of tricks I've been picking up here and there that could be helpful to someone who's as clueless as I was/am.

If you ever asked me a question about sewing, you have come across my confusing-as-all-Hell! explanations. I don't know the names of the things and I can jumble the steps like you have noooooo idea, so I was thinking of putting my tripod to use and, maybe, short videos where I showed the technique instead of trying to explain it?

I've had to put my participation in contest prizes and giveaways on hold for the time being, but I still want to give back to the community somehow, so I'm just throwing the idea out there. What do you think?
