She is now my doll with the most complex hairdo to this day.
If I'm not mistaken, what you're seeing now was my 5th attempt. For two days it was almost a ritual of sewing all day just to dismantle everything by night. It was heartbreaking and I felt like some crazy Penelope.

I think I've reached a level of practice where I can usually look at a painting and just SEE how to make it into one of my dolls. What I don't immediately get, a little research fixes that problem.
This was not the case.
I was looking at her painting, but I couldn't see. Many stitches later I began to see, but I still didn't understand WHAT I was seeing.
I finally came up with this. I dare not claim any historical accuracy, especially since my research came up with nothing even similar to the painting for guidance, but this is what it seemed logical to me in the end.
