Marguerite de Valois by deridolls Marguerite de Valois by deridolls
I became interested in the Valois dinasty after seeing the movie La Reine Margot in 1994.
Here is my homage to that enthralling figure.

This doll is based on a portrait of her when still a child, which can be seen here:

I haven't seen it in over 10 years, but I still recall how gorgeous all the costumes were then. Movies were my main inspiration when I began and before I turned to period art.

Sooooooo mant pearls. <3 Her earrings are just to die for! Are those other beads they're done with?

Nope! :D Just pearls on this one.
:glomp: You're very kind to my poor plier skills. These must have been among the first earrings I made using wire. Before, I just sewed the beads on regardless of the style of earring.

Thank you once again!
There was a movie made about her in the 90ies with the gorgeous Isabelle Adjani: "La Reine Margot". At least, that's when I first knew about this queen. :)
