An order from the amazing, wonderful, incredible A., here's a little Alan Breck Stewart inspired by David MacCallum's portrayal of him in the TV series "Kidnapped": [link]
(One day I'll make the horses as well, but not yet. :))

This dashing gentleman has a lot to brag! :swoon: From his embroidered vest and coat to his gorgeous tricorn hat, from his lace necktie to the pony tail you can't see here :P, he was a delight to make!
Also his cloak has a tiny snap button hidden under one of the grey felt circles on the chain, so it easily removable for a dramatic scene. :)

All those lovely details. Fantastic silver edging.

:glomp: Thank you, darling! I crocheted a simple chain (pretty much all I know about crochet...) and then stitched it down. It felt better than the stiff store-bought silver greek trim I had originally planned for it.

Neat, I thought it was a chain stitch! And that's one more crochet thing than I know :)

It looks like it in the end, but it has a bit more body than the embroidery, I think.
When I was little my mom taught me a few cute stitches, both in knitting and crochet, but now I can barely remember the most basic things... Thank heavens for Youtube tutorials, that's all I can say! :D

I had a friend who was supposed to show me how to crochet chains ages ago so I could do wire ones. Youtube seems like a great option!

How charming! I love the fine details in his costume (including his little cravat)! :)

:glomp: Thank you, darling! I love that about lace! It only takes a small portion of it to make a big impression on the overall look!
